There is a lot of information out there both for and against snacking. But if done right, spreading out your eating over more than just three square meals can help to keep your metabolism up and moving throughout the day.
Step one: Stay hydrated! Sometimes when you feel hungry, you’re really thirsty. So keep a water bottle handy to make sure that you’re getting enough water and that your tummy doesn’t grumble for lack of hydration.
Step two: Choose a healthy snack. There are loads of snack options that are tasty AND healthy and will give you that afternoon burst of energy you need to make it through to dinner. Here are some of my favorites:
- Granola bars
- Beef sticks
- String cheese
- Nut butter
- Citrus fruit
Step three: Choose an appropriate portion size. Be mindful of how much you eat so that you don’t graze yourself into eating two dinners.
